New Zealand Petroleum and Minerals (NZPAM) has begun consultation on updated Minerals and Petroleum Programmes to reflect recent and proposed amendments to the Crown Minerals Act 1991 (CMA). The closing date for submissions is 11 February 2025.

Permit processing timeliness report: 1 July to 30 September 2024
Earlier this year, New Zealand Petroleum and Minerals (NZP&M) introduced processing timeframes for minerals and petroleum applications received from 1 July 2024, and committed to publishing results quarterly on its performance against those timeframes.
