Annual return of industrial rocks and minerals output 2024
New Zealand Petroleum and Minerals is collecting the production data of quarries for the calendar year of 2024. We conduct the survey each year. It provides us an indication of the materials that have been extracted in New Zealand.
Your participation in this survey is highly valued. We anonymise the data we collect. It will be instrumental in analysing industry trends and informing future strategic decisions.

If you have multiple quarries and would like to do a bulk data input, use the template spreadsheet.
If your quarry is on Crown land, you are welcome to provide your data in the survey. Alternatively, email us your permit number. We can then extract the data from the relevant annual summary report.
Annual minerals industry statistics and survey
When completing the survey:
- indicate if your quarry is closed. Tick the “Nil” box if your quarry did not operate during the year
- provide current contact details of your operation.
To help us stay up-to-date with changes, send us information of any new quarries operating in your region. Include contact details for the quarry where possible.
We would appreciate if you could the survey could before 31 August 2025.
We treat all information collected in the survey as strictly confidential, except where disclosure is required by law. We will release only regional totals publicly. Where a region has 3 or fewer quarries, we will restrict the information.
